ACTIVIST CULTURE 

Activist culture is a collection of people who campaign to bring about political or social change.
The term #blacklivesmatter come from social media in 2013 after a woman posted her feelings about the murder of Trayvon Martin a young African-American Teen. 
The movement from there was then co-founded by three members of the community; Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. 
The Black Lives Matter movement goes beyond the brutality inflicted faced by police and vigilantes onto the black community. It is about being proud to be a part of the black person community.

Founders of the Black Lives Matter campaign issues a statement calling Trump, among the World's worst fascists and implored people to reject hatred.
Now that Donald Trump is elected Black Lives Matter founders says that the mandate has not changed. In fact they would like to use the grounds for trump being elected as a stand for human rights as not just Black Lives Matter is protesting Trump being elected but so is most of the US and World. 
Black Lives Matter has orchestrated many rallies for political change. One of their largest Rallies was the killing of Micheal Brown. 
Micheal Brown was an unarmed black teen, who was shot and killed by Darren Wilson, a while police officer. The killing of the young teen took place in 2014 in Ferguson. Darren Wilson was not convicted as the jury declined the charges of murder committed by the officer. The Justice Department called on Ferguson to overhaul its criminal justice system, declaring that the city had engaged in constitutional violations. 
Due to the charges being dropped Black Lives Matter took it upon themselves to protest for social justice. The Demonstration took place to bring attention too and change, racism and police brutality. After the Justice Department released a repot that stated that there was an overwhelming racial bias in the town's policing.
